About Us
We started our journey like many others—immigrants or first-generation kids, growing up in Aotearoa but raised in households rooted in cultures that felt miles away from the Kiwi norm. Whether it was bringing food to school that no one could pronounce, or having our names said wrong over and over again, we’ve known what it feels like to live between worlds—never quite fitting into one or the other.
That cultural disconnection wasn’t just about language or customs. It was about identity. About not seeing ourselves represented in the things around us, especially in everyday life. We were surrounded by phone cases, fashion, and media that didn’t reflect who we were, what we valued, or where we came from. We felt invisible—like we had to shrink parts of ourselves just to feel like we belonged.
So we decided to do something about it.
